HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College Women's Squash team drew a crowd for a 6-3 victory on Sunday as they hosted longtime rival, Harvard University. The Bantams rise to 6-0 record on the season, while Harvard drop to 4-1 overall.
Trinity opened up the match with a 3-0 lead over visiting Harvard as Kara Lincou closed out her individual match in three (11-7,12-10,11-6). Janna El Ashmawy collected the second match victory after a three set battle against Crimsons' Amira Singh (11-5, 11-9, 11-7).  Junior Jana Safy went head-to-head against Saran Nghiem fighting for a five set rally, solidifying the third win for the Bantams (11-4, 11-8, 5-11, 10-12, 11-7). 
Sophomore Hannah Chukwu began the squash match registering a 3-1 victory over Harvards' Brecon Welch with rally scores of 11-5, 9-11, 11-6, 11-4. Shortly after Junior Lulu Palacios Benitez went 3-1 going point for point against visiting Molly Stoltz (11-9, 9-11, 14-12, 11-9). The sixth match of the afternoon was an exhilarating performance from Nouran Youssef taking her opponent Habeeba Eldefrawn into a five set battle, closing out the match 3-2 (11-7, 5-11, 12-14, 11-7, 11-7). 
In the final matches sophomore Fabiola Cabello, senior Madeline Hylland and junior Malak Moustafa fell to the Crimson, Cabello and Kamal fell in a 0-3 shutouts while Hylland had a one set victory falling 1-3.
With a win from both Trinity's Men's and Women's Squash teams marks the first time since the 2008 season that both had defeated Harvard.
The Bantams will be back in action on Saturday January 27th on the road against Cornell University at 1PM.
