HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Volleyball team split a pair of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash over the weekend, falling to visiting Tufts University in a five-set thriller, 3-2, on Friday night, followed by a three-set sweep over visiting Bates College Saturday afternoon. With the split, the Bantams move to 15-3 overall and 3-3 in NESCAC play.

Match 1: Tufts 3, Trinity 2 (25-22, 15-25, 25-21, 25-27, 8-15)
Against the Jumbos, junior
Ellie Gordon logged a match-high 16 kills with two blocks a dig and a service aces. Senior
Eva Lekovic tallied 11 kills with four blocks and two digs, while senior
Bella Caffuzzi registered a match-high six blocks with six kills. Senior
Ava Boloyan added six kills, and classmate
Grace Sullivan distributed a match-high 23 assists. Sophomore
Scarlett Jago snared a match-high 19 digs for the Bantams.

Claire Castor paced the Jumbos attack with a team-high 14 kills, a team-high 16 digs, and a match-high seven aces. Â Ruby Flath chipped in 11 kills, while Rianna Liu and Ellery Clark doled out 22 assists and 20 assists, respectively.

Match 2: Trinity 3, Bates 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-16)
In the three-set victory over the Bobcats, Lekovic recorded a team-high nine kills with seven digs and three blocks, while Caffuzzi, junior
Chloe Gentile and first-year
Annette Schlunk had six kills apiece. Caffuzzi added five blocks, and Sullivan dished out a team-high 14 assists. Jago grabbed a team-high 17 digs in the win.

Ami Evans led the Bobcats with a match-high 11 kills, 12 digs and three aces, while Malina Young registered eight kills. Skye Higashihara logged a match-high 28 assists and Sami Kim had a match-high 20 digs for Bates.

The Bantams will return to the court when they host Hamilton College Friday at 7:00 p.m.
