WATERVILLE, Maine – The Trinity College Men's Soccer squad fell to host Colby College, 5-1, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) match at Serdjenian Field Saturday afternoon. The Bantams dip to 2-10 on the year and 0-8 in conference play, while the Mules improve to 1-7 in the NESCAC and 6-7 overall.

In the ninth minute of action, the Mules grabbed an early lead behind a tally from sophomore Colin Leon. Colby extended their lead to 2-0 as junior Ryan Stewart found the back of the net off a corner kick with 19:22 on the clock. The Bantams trimmed the deficit to one goal in the 31
st minute when sophomore Sam Singer delivered an unassisted tally. The score remained at 2-1 heading into the half.

The Mules pulled away late in the second half as senior Mario Simoes netted a trio of goals in the final 10 minutes to escort Colby to the win. Simoes potted his first goal with 10:50 remaining in regulation, and then struck again 40 seconds later to extend the Mules lead to 4-1. Simoes scored his final goal of the game in the 90
th minutes to seal the 5-1 win for Colby.

Colby controlled the shot column, 17-7, and corner kick opportunities, 8-4, during the match. Trinity junior Felix Schmidt recorded a career-high eight saves, while Mules senior goalkeeper Brendan McCarthy made two saves.

The Bantams will look to return to the win column when they travel to Western Connecticut State for a non-conference match Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
