HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bantams celebrated their Class of 2025 seniors before securing a 3-1 victory over the visiting Hamilton College Continentals, marking their first conference win of the season. With this victory, the Bantams improved to 5-9 overall and 1-8 in the NESCAC, while the Continentals fell to 7-8 overall and 3-7 in the conference.
Prior to the match, Trinity College Field Hockey held a Senior Day ceremony to honor their three seniors: Ashley Zigler, Izzy Deveney, and Lilly Arends.
First-year Claire Griffith opened the scoring by redirecting Nina Falkson's drive into the net at 10:54, giving the Bantams a 1-0 lead. However, Hamilton responded with three consecutive penalty corners, culminating in a goal from Delaney Grace that leveled the score at 1-1 by the end of the first quarter.
The game remained tied at 1-1 at halftime. Hamilton managed three shots, with two on target, both saved by Bantams goalie Sydney Korkosz. The Bantams took one shot on goal, but it was thwarted by Continentals goalie Abby Griffin.
The Bantams regained the lead at 2-1 in the third quarter when Izzy Deveney scored off an insert from Maeve Hymovitz during Trinity's final corner opportunity of the period. Deveney expertly redirected the ball into the back corner of the net.
Trinity extended their lead to 3-1 at 52:20, with another assist from Hymovitz that allowed Griffith to easily tap in her second goal of the day. Annie Raduazzo then stepped in as goalkeeper for Trinity, closing out the game and registering two saves to preserve the Bantams' victory.
Hamilton outshot Trinity 17-12 and held a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Continentals earned seven corners to Trinity's six. The Bantams' goalkeepers performed well, allowing just one goal, with Korkosz making six saves in 53:22 minutes. Raduazzo collected two saves in her brief appearance.
Trinity will return to Sheppard Field on Tuesday, October 29th, for a 6 PM matchup against the Amherst College Mammoths in their regular-season finale.
