DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The sixth-ranked Trinity College Men's Basketball team rolled to an 81-59 victory over Albertus Magnus College in their 2024-25 season opener at the LaFrance Hospitality Tournament, hosted by UMass-Dartmouth, Saturday night at the Tripp Athletic Center. The Bantams sit at 1-0, while the Falcons drop to 0-4 on the season.

The Bantams had three scorers in double figures, led by a career-high 17 points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals from junior
Drew Lazarre. Sophomore
Tristan Davis logged career-highs with 16 points and eight rebounds, while junior
Henry Vetter added 13 points, four assists and three rebounds. Senior

Jarrel Okorougo and sophomore
Jared Berry each chipped in seven points in the win.

Albertus was paced by a team-high 14 points and three rebounds from Ray Ford Jr. Deivone Tanksley pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds with eight points, while Jayquan Kirkland had nine points off the bench.

The Bantams led wire-to-wire, jumping to a 6-0 lead in the opening half behind a pair of buckets from Davis. A trio of free throws from Okorougo and a triple from junior
Trevor McDonald extended the Trinity lead to 14-4 with 13:40 on the clock. The Falcons battled back with a 9-1 run to close the gap to 15-13 at the 10:49 mark. The Bantams regained control with a 15-3 run, paced by eight points from Vetter, to hold a 30-16 advantage with 4:18 to play in the half. Trinity added a late bucket from Dorion to take a 32-21 lead into halftime.

Trinity kicked off the second half on a 12-2 run in the first three minutes, fueled by six points from Lazarre, to build the gap to 44-23. Lazarre buried a pair of triples, along with a deep dagger from senior
Sean Macarchuk to push the lead to 57-38 with 10:11 on the clock. With 6:37 remaining, junior
Paul Jordan knocked down a three-pointer to hand the Bantams their largest lead of the game, 68-43. Davis netted seven points down the stretch to secure the 81-59 victory.

The Bantams edged the Falcons in rebounding, 37-32, and controlled points in the paint, 28-20, while the Falcons bench outscored Trinity, 26-20. The Bantams shot 26-of-51 (51%) from the floor, including 10-of-21 (47.6%) from three-point range, and 19-of-24 (79.2%) from the foul line. Albertus connected on 19-of-55 (34.5%) from the field, 6-of-16 (37.5%) from three-point, and 15-of-24 (62.5%) from the free throw stripe.
