HARTFORD, Conn. -Â The sixth-ranked Trinity College Men's Basketball team led wire-to-wire during a 79-54 non-conference victory over host University of Hartford at Chase Arena Thursday night. The Bantams improve to 3-0 on the season, while the Hawks drop to 2-3 overall.

The Bantams registered three players in double figures, led by a game-high 14 points, seven rebounds and a game-high four assists from junior
Henry Vetter. Junior
Jarrel Okorougo pulled down a game-high eight rebounds with 10 points, while senior
Will Dorion tallied 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Sophomore
Jared Berry chipped in nine points, four rebounds and two assists, and junior
Paul Jordan logged eight points and three rebounds off the bench.

First-year Reggie Selden paced the Hawks with a team-high 10 points and two rebounds. Junior Drew Stack had nine points, connecting on a trio of three-pointers, while first-year Troy Santos added seven points and a rebound. Sophomore Joshua Petion and first-year Jaron Broomfield notched six points apiece in the loss.

The Bantams stormed to an 18-0 lead over the opening seven minutes, featuring six points from junior
Drew Lazarre and three-pointers from Dorion and Berry. Senior
Sean Macarchuk and junior
Trevor McDonald added three points apiece, followed by treys from Dorion and Vetter as Trinity expanded the gap to 33-11 with 6:13 on the clock. The sides netted 13 points each down the stretch to take a 46-24 lead into halftime.

Okorougo and Vetter delivered four-point efforts to hand Trinity a 54-29 lead to begin the second half. A layup from Jordan at the 10:27 mark gave the Bantams their largest lead of the game, 65-34. Following a 9-2 run from the Hawks, Trinity closed the game with five points from junior
Dane Moran and sophomore
Paul Ippolito to seal the 79-54 victory.

The Bantams controlled the glass, 47-33, and dominated points in the paint, 36-14. The Trinity bench outscored the Hawks reserves, 32-30. The Bantams converted 29-of-69 (42%) from the field, including 10-of-30 (33.3%) from the foul line, and 11-of-19 (57.9%) from the foul line. Hartford shot 17-of-49 (34.7%) from the floor, 8-of-20 (40%) from three-point, and 12-of-18 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.
