HARTFORD, Conn. – The 12
th-ranked Trinity College Women's Ice Hockey team fell to 15
th-ranked Nazareth University, 2-1, in a Top 15 non-conference clash at Koeppel Community Sports Center Friday night. The Bantams move to 6-2 on the season, while the Golden Flyers sit at 6-2 overall.

With 14:03 remaining in the first period, Trinity first-year
Caroline Holm won a face-off in the Nazareth zone and was able to sneak a pass to graduate
Jenny Guider, who weaved between two Golden Flyer defenders and snapped a shot past Nazareth graduate goaltender McKinley Hoff to hand the Bantams a 1-0 lead.

To open the second period, the Golden Flyers capitalized on a Bantams penalty less than a minute into the period. On the powerplay opportunity, sophomore Alexis Kindred took a pass from the Nazareth zone, skated into the Bantams end and sniped a shot past Trinity sophomore goalie Maddie Carter to even the score at 1-1.

With 11:43 left to play in the second period, Nazareth sophomore Nikki Sharp and first-year Amy Laskowski worked against the boards to keep the puck in the Trinity zone, and then Laskowski found first-year Sophia Pitts, who tucked a shot past Carter to give the Golden Flyers a 2-1 advantage heading into the third period.

The Bantams controlled the shot column, 31-16, and the faceoff circle, 23-20, during the game, while the Golden Flyers held the edge in blocked shots, 20-11. Carter made 14 saves for the Bantams, while Hoff stopped a game-high 30 shots for Nazareth.

Trinity will look to get back in the win column when they host Colby College (4-2) in a non-conference game at the Koeppel Center Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
