Women's Basketball Peck Their Way Past #24 Bates, 59-45

HARTFORD, Conn. - Women's Basketball knocked down #24 Bates College, the number one seated team in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), with a final score of 59-45 Friday night in Oosting Gymnasium. Bantams sit with a record of 17-6,7-2 while the Bobcats drop 19-4,7-2.

The Bantams were unable to keep a steady scoring pace in the first half of play, allowing Bates to keep the score within a possession or two from them for the majority of play. Trinity held their largest lead of five with 3:56 remaining in the first, after a made three and a pull-up jumper from senior Emma Wax. The Bobcats would flip the script and close out the first leading 16-13. The Bantams would go on to out score the Bobcats 9-to-6, and regain the lead after a low scoring second quarter led by Olivia Vick with six of the Bantams nine.

In the second half the court would begin to tilt in the Bantams favor as they consistently held a lead of four points or more in the third and kept the deficit in the double digits in the fourth. Trinity was led by Indi DelRocco with 12 points, 4 assists and 6 rebounds, Emma Wax who added 10 points, 3 assists and 9 rebounds, along with 12 points from Reilly Campbell and 10 rebounds from Bria Fuller.

The Bantams outshot the Bobcats 20-to-12 in the third quarter, as well as out rebounding them 42-to-36. Trinity went 18-for-52 (34.6%) from the field and knocked down 19-of-27 (70.4%) from the charity stripe. Bates shot 15-for-52 (28.8%) from the field and hit 12-of-16 from the foul line (75.0%), both teams added double-digits from the bench with 13 from Trinity and Bates with 15.

The Bantams are back in Oosting Gymnasium for their senior day as they host Tufts University at 3PM to finish out their regular season schedule.
