Bantams Overturn Salve Regina, 5-1 in Non-Conference Play

NEWPORT, RI. -  The Trinity College Baseball team topped Salve Regina in non-conference play Wednesday afternoon, 5-4 for the final score. 

Bantams come away with a record of 9-11 (3-3 NESCAC), while Salve Regina owns a 19-4 (6-1 NEWMAC) on the season.

Game One Key Takeaways:

  • The Game was at a standstill of 0-0 till the third inning when Zach McBride hit a one base knock to left field sending  in William Sawyer (Unearned), 1-0.

    • Aidan Stern stole to second, advancing to third on a throwing error, allowing McBride to also steal hom, 2-0

    • Dylan Schnitzer lined out to right field for an SAC RBI, scoring Stern, making it a 3-0 game after the third.

  • Bantams rotated through three pitchers in the first 5 innings, two from Brendan Grady, two from Drew McGowan, and one from Jake Leonard. Salve remained runless.

  • Later in the sixth inning the Bantams loaded the bases recording their fourth run after William Sawyer was awarded a base on balls, 4-0.
