#18 Women's Lacrosse Downed 11-10 by the Visiting Camels

HARTFORD, Conn.. - Despite a fourth quarter push the Bantams fell short, 11-10, to the visiting Connecticut College Camels on Sheppard Field this evening in a New England Small College Athletic Conference clash. The Bantams fall 5-4 overall with a conference record of 2-3, while the Camels rise 6-4, 2-4 in conference. Trinity will travel to Hamilton on Saturday, April 6th for a NESCAC meeting at 12PM.

The Bantams overpowered the Camels in draw controls collecting 16-of-the-24 taken, while also taking 22 shots over Conn's 20. The Bantams were 100% with clears, 9-for-9 in the first half, 8-for-8 in the second totaling 17 successful clears.

Trinity held a 3-2 lead after the first quarter with goals from Molly McGuckin, Caroline Lally and Caroline Lampert. In the second half the Bantams were out scored 4-to-2, after three straight goals by the Camels lifting them into the lead. Trinity was able to knot the score, 5-5, with two back-to-back goals from McGuckin and Miller, but Conn. would claim the lead back heading into the half by one point, 6-5.

Both teams were held to a low scoring quarter in the third with the Bantams only adding one, while the Camels collected two, 8-6.

Lampert opened up the fourth with an unassisted goal just thirty seconds into play turning it back into a point game, but with three consecutive goals by the Camels the field began to tilt in favor of Conn. The Bantams were able to put three shots in the back of the Camels net from Casey Ward, Grace Denious and a player down goal from Caitlyn Buermann to chip away at the Connecticut lead. Due to a turnover after winning the final draw, the Bantams succumbed to a 11-10 defeat in the rain.
