HARTFORD, CONN. - The Trinity College volleyball team battled to a third-set victory but ultimately fell to visiting Colby College, 3–1, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matchup inside Oosting Gymnasium. The Bantams move to 12–10 overall and 2–7 in the NESCAC, while the Mules improve to 20–2 overall and 8–1 in conference play.

Trinity jumped ahead early in the opening set, building a 7–4 lead—its largest of the frame—before Colby responded with a 6–1 run to flip the momentum. The Bantams kept the deficit within three for much of the set, but the Mules pulled away late to take the first, 25–19.

In the second set, the Bantams erased an early 7–1 Colby lead and briefly went ahead, 9–8. The Mules countered with a decisive 10–3 stretch to regain control and close out the frame, 25–19, to go up 2–0 in the match.

Trinity came out strong in the third, racing to an 8–2 lead and maintaining control throughout. Colby closed the gap to within three points, but the Bantams held steady to claim the set, 25–18, cutting the match deficit to 2–1.

The fourth set was tightly contested early before Colby surged ahead with an 8–1 run, powered by consecutive four-point bursts. Down 19–9, Trinity added five more points but couldn't disrupt the Mules' rhythm, as Colby sealed the match with a 25–14 win in the final frame.
