HARTFORD, Conn. — The Trinity College Women's Soccer team fell to the visiting No. 21 Tufts University Jumbos, 2-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon on the Trinity Soccer Field. The Bantams move to 4-3-2 overall and 1-3-1 in league play, while Tufts improves to 8-0-1 and 5-0-1 in the NESCAC.
What Happened:

The first half featured a goal by the visiting Jumbos in the 22nd minute, when Jordan Miller found the back of the net off a setup from Elsi Aires. Trinity first-year Maggie Hyder nearly delivered the equalizer minutes later, but her shot sailed just high and right of the goal.

In the final seconds of the half, Emma Almoney fired a low attempt toward the left corner, but Tufts goalkeeper Gigi Edwards made the stop to preserve the lead heading into halftime.

Tufts extended its advantage in the 64th minute when Caroline Kelly converted on another assist from Aires to make it 2-0.

The Bantams continued to press, as sophomore Sara Reiger launched a promising strike in the 73rd minute, but Edwards again came up with the save to maintain the shutout.
