Field Hockey Falls to No.12 Cardinals, 3-0

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Trinity College Field Hockey team was shut out, 3-0, by the No. 12-ranked Wesleyan University Cardinals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action on Hicks Field Wednesday evening. The Bantams drop to 3–7 overall and 1–5 in conference play, while the Cardinals improve to 6–3 with a 2–3 NESCAC mark.

What Happened:

  • Trinity's best early scoring opportunity came from senior Lindsay Rogers, who fired a shot in the opening quarter that was turned away by the Cardinals' goalkeeper. The Bantams' final chance came late in the fourth quarter when sophomore Brooke Dibiase found space in the circle, but her attempt was blocked by a Wesleyan defender.

  • Wesleyan broke through with a pair of goals in the second quarter and added an insurance tally in the third to secure the 3–0 victory.

Inside the Numbers:
