NEW LONDON, Conn. — Trinity men's hockey controlled pace, possession, and shot volume throughout Friday night's matchup, out-shooting Connecticut College 74–28, but the Bantams ultimately fell 4–2 despite a performance that showcased poise, structure, and encouraging early-season pace. Trinity dictated play for extended stretches, generated far more scoring opportunities, and flashed a balanced attack that should translate as the season progresses.
What Happened:
- Trinity came out flying, establishing immediate offensive zone time and generating clean entries throughout the first period. The Bantams threw 39 shots on goal, sustaining heavy pressure while keeping the Camels on their heels for much of the night.
- The Bantams' first breakthrough came when Brendan Dumas cleaned up a rebound in front following another extended cycle shift. Dumas, a constant spark plug, later added an assist and was one of Trinity's most dynamic forwards from start to finish.
- Trinity continued to press, and James Barbour delivered the Bantams' second tally, finishing a scramble at the crease after creating separation in tight. Barbour led all skaters with 8 shots, driving offense and repeatedly forcing high-quality saves.
