NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Ice Hockey team fell to host Connecticut College, 6-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tilt at Dayton Arena Saturday evening. The Bantams slide to 0-2 on the season, while the Camels improve to 2-0.
What Happened:
- Just over seven minutes into the first period, the Camels cracked the scoreboard as Trinity goaltender Kathrine Lemke denied back-to-back shots, but the final rebound was knocked in by Serena Seiple to give Conn the 1-0 lead.
- Six minutes later, Seiple won a faceoff in the Bantams zone and Casey Chesner gathered the loose puck and fired a shot past Lemke to make it a 2-0 game.
- With 16:40 remaining in the second period, Seiple added an unassisted tally, followed by an unassisted strike from Christine Oar five minutes later to push the Camels lead to 4-0.
- Conn College added goals from Bridget McGann and Sofia Donnelly to secure the 6-0 victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Camels controlled the shot column, 31-16, while the Bantams held the edge in the faceoff circle, 30-20.
- The Trinity power play went 0-for-2 in the game, while the Camels converted on 1-of-4 opportunities.
- Lemke made a game-high 25 saves in her collegiate debut, while Devon Galizio stopped 14 shots for Conn College.
