HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Ice Hockey team fell to visiting Amherst College, 2-0, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tilt at the Koeppel Community Sports Center Friday night. The Bantams move to 0-3 on the season, while the Mammoths sit at 1-1 overall.
What Happened:
- With 8:39 remaining in the first period, the Mammoths struck first as Andrew Carmody grabbed an attempted clear at the Bantam blue line, fired a shot that was blocked, but he gathered the rebound and snuck a shot over the shoulder of Devon Bobak to give Amherst the 1-0 lead.
- The Bantams peppered the net to close out the first period, but Amherst goalie Vincent Lamberti kept the puck out of the net with a trio of saves.
- Trinity continued to apply pressure over the final two periods, but couldn't break through against Lamberti, who posted 17 saves during the second and third periods.
- Amherst added an empty net insurance goal from Josh Burke in the final minute to give the Mammoths the 2-0 victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Bantams dominated the shot column, 28-15, during the contest.
- The sides were even in the faceoff circle, 25-25.

- Trinity went 0-for-5 on the power play, while Amherst came up empty on four chances.
