ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Trinity College Women's Ice Hockey team fell to No. 5–ranked Nazareth University, 3–0, in a non-conference matchup Friday night at the Tim Hortons Ice Plex. The Bantams drop to 1–5 on the year, while the unbeaten Golden Flyers improve to 9–0.
What Happened:
- Nazareth struck early, as Meredith Boettcher netted the opening goal just 16 seconds into the contest. The Golden Flyers doubled their lead later in the first period when Brooke Judkiewicz scored on the power play, sending Trinity into the first intermission trailing 2–0.
- Trinity first-year goaltender Katherine Lemke stood tall in the second period, turning aside all 11 shots she faced to keep the Bantams within striking distance. Offensively, Trinity generated looks from Gabriella Gross (2 shots), along with attempts by Lily Brooke, Lillian Cassidy, Ellie Calo, and Sophie Rousell, but Nazareth netminder Mia Gonsalves turned away each opportunity.
- After a scoreless middle frame, the Golden Flyers added insurance in the third on an even-strength tally by Amy Laskowski to secure the 3–0 result.
