MEDFORD, Mass. – The ninth-ranked Trinity College Men's Lacrosse team traveled to face top-ranked Tufts University on Saturday afternoon, suffering a 27-8 defeat. The Bantams are now 1-2 overall and 0-2 in NESCAC play, while the Jumbos remain undefeated at 2-0, 2-0 in the conference.
Tufts took control early, scoring 9 goals to Trinity's 2 in the opening quarter. Trinity's Jon Krikorian broke the Jumbos' scoring streak with an unassisted goal at 7:37. Later in the frame, Krikorian found space again, netting his second unassisted goal of the quarter.
The second quarter saw a more balanced offensive effort from both teams, with Tufts holding a 5-4 edge in goals. Krikorian connected with Cam Elenteny for the Bantams' third goal just under three minutes into play. Collin Sullivan, Bo Page, and Jay Ottomanelli also got on the scoreboard, with Ottomanelli scoring the final goal of the half after receiving a feed from Ethan Cobb. At the break, the Bantams trailed 14-6.
The second half was dominated by Tufts, who outscored Trinity 13-3 to seal a 27-9 victory. In the third quarter, Page opened the scoring just 59 seconds into the frame, followed by an Ottomanelli goal assisted by Jake Connors.
Conley Bohan scored Trinity's final goal at 4:03 in the fourth quarter, receiving an assist from Krikorian, before the Jumbos finished the game with a 27-9 win.
Tufts rotated through five goalies in the game, with Connor Garzone playing 33:59 and recording 8 saves. Ben Friedman, Will Anderson, Jack Old, and Alex Dircks also shared time in goal for the Jumbos.
Trinity will return to action on their home turf, hosting Western Connecticut State University on Wednesday, March 12th at 6:00 PM.
