HARTFORD, Conn. – The 15th-ranked Trinity College Women's Lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with a 14–7 victory over visiting NESCAC rival Hamilton College on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Robin L. Sheppard Field. With the win, the Bantams improve to 7–3 overall and 4–2 in conference play, while the Continentals fall to 3–6, 1–6 in the NESCAC.
Following the game, Trinity honored its seven graduating seniors: Caroline Cohen, Alexa Macaulay, Grace Murphy, Brooke Kurtz, Rebecca Strouch, Tatum Constant, and team manager Alexandra Curbelo.
Junior Sarah Marvin led the Bantams' offense with four goals, marking her second straight game with three or more goals. Kaeley Zito added three goals, two assists, and converted her lone free-position shot. Alex Lesko, Brooke Kurtz, and Ivy Armentrout each contributed two goals, while Kelsey Restivo chipped in one goal and a pair of assists. Kurtz also led all players with four assists in the win.
Defensively, June Trodden was a force for the Bantams, causing four turnovers, collecting three ground balls, and securing five draw controls. Samantha Hark added three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
In goal, Olivia Aguirre and Ali Macdougall split time. Aguirre made four saves in the first half, while Macdougall tallied two saves in the second to help secure the victory.
Trinity led 6–3 at halftime, maintaining control through the opening 30 minutes with a 12–10 edge in shots and a 16–12 advantage in ground balls. Hamilton held a slight edge in draw controls, 6–5.
The Bantams broke the game open in the third quarter, going on a 6–2 run that included three unanswered goals to end the frame with a 10–5 lead. Trinity tacked on two more goals in the fourth, and although Hamilton responded with back-to-back scores, it wasn't enough to close the gap.
Trinity returns to action on Wednesday, April 9, hosting another NESCAC showdown under the lights against Wesleyan University. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m. at Robin L. Sheppard Field.
