GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Trinity College Women's Lacrosse team scored 14 consecutive goals to defeat Meredith College, 19-5, in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship at Clark Field Saturday afternoon. The Bantams rise to 9-8 on the season, while the Avenging Angels wrap their campaign at 16-4.

Play was tight over the opening minutes
Alex Lesko and
Caroline Lally handed the Bantams a 2-0 lead, but Meredith responded with tallies from Reese Walker and Allison June Mabe to even the score with 10:02 remaining in the first quarter.

The Trinity offense kicked into gear with four straight goals to close the period, ignited by a strike from
Kelsey Restivo.
Kaeley Zito and
Grace Denious connected on a pair of goals, sandwiching an unassisted goal from Lally to push the Bantams ahead 6-2.

Trinity continued to pour it on with six unanswered goals in the second quarter, featuring four goals from Lesko and tallies from Denious and Restivo to take a 12-2 lead into halftime. Erica Kierstad got into the scoring column to open the third quarter, followed by goals from Zito, Restivo and Denious, as the Bantams extended the lead to 16-2.

Elle White halted a 34-plus minute scoring drought for Avenging Angels, but Trinity answered with a pair of goals from Kierstad early in the fourth to take an 18-3 lead. Â Kenzie Todd posted two late goals for Meredith, but
Ivy Armentrout delivered the final strike for Trinity, sealing the 19-5 victory.

Lesko registered a career-high seven points with a career-high six goals and an assist, while Denious logged a career-high five points with a game-high three assists and two goals.
Kaeley Zito added four points with three goals, and Lally, Kierstad and Restivo netted three points apiece.
Olivia Aguirre earned the win in net for Trinity, while
Karenna Chader,
Ali Macdougall and
Tessa Gattuso all saw time in goal in relief.

The Bantams dominated the shot column 34-18, groundballs, 23-10, and draw controls, 15-9, during contest.

The Bantams will battle sixth-ranked Gettyburg College in the Second Round on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
