Women's Squash Earns Four CSA All-American Selections

| By:
HARTFORD, Conn. – Four members of the Trinity College Women's Squash team were tabbed as College Squash Association (CSA) Women's Squash All-Americans, announced by the CSA on Friday. For the ninth time in program history, Trinity landed four All-American honorees as senior Malak Moustafa (Alexandria, Egypt) grabbed First Team honors, while classmates Jana Safy (Cairo, Egypt) and Noa Romero (Barcelona, Spain) and junior Hannah Chukwu (Tatbanya, Hungary) were Second Team selections.

Moustafa becomes the 11th three-time First Team All-American, and the first since Kanzy El Defrawy was a four-time First Team honoree after producing an 8-5 record in 13 matches. A 2022 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year selection, Moustafa was the second player in program history to take home NESCAC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year and be a three-time NESCAC First Team selection, joining Catalina Pelaez.

Safy becomes the 13th player in program history to earn All-American status four times, and the first since Vanessa Raj (2017-2020). Safy logged a 13-5 record on the season playing in at the top of the ladder for the Bantams. Safy became the third Bantam in program history to claim two or more NESCAC Player of the Year honors, joining Pelaez (2011-12) and El Defrawy (2013-2016). Safy is the fourth player in program history to receive four First Team All-Conference selections, joining Pelaez, Kany El Defrawy, and Raneem Sharaf.

Chukwu picks up her second All-American honor, becoming the 51st player in program history to receive at least two All-American designations. Chukwu, the 2023 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, earned her third straight All-Conference Second Team selection after generating a 14-2 record with a 4-2 mark in CSA individual matches.

Romero collects her first All-American honor after going 15-4 on the season with a 3-2 record in CSA single matches. Romero pairs the All-American designation with a NESCAC Second Team selection.
