No. 25 Men's Soccer Fall in Tight 1-0 Battle with No. 9 Panthers

HARTFORD, Conn. – No. 25 Trinity College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting No. 9 Middlebury College in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action on Trinity Soccer Field Saturday afternoon. The Bantams move to 2-1-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the league, while the Panthers improve to 3-0-1 and 1-0-1 in conference play.

What Happened:

  • Tomas Ludvik and Kieran McCabe paced the Bantams' attack in the opening half. Ludvik placed two of his three shots on target, while McCabe added a pair of attempts. Middlebury's lone shot on goal in the first half came from Pablo Gonzalez, but Trinity goalkeeper Nate Dyott was there for the save.
  • The game's only tally came in the 73rd minute when Hugo Horwitz capitalized off a corner kick, finishing a scramble in the box to put the Panthers ahead.

  • Trinity held a 15-13 edge in total shots.

  • Middlebury earned an 11-7 advantage in corner kicks.
