HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College men's ice hockey team closed out the weekend 2-0 after edging visiting Williams College, 4–3, Saturday afternoon at the Koeppel Community Sports Center. The Bantams improve to 6–6–0 overall and 2–4–0 in conference play, while the Ephs fall to 3–8–1 and 3–5–0 in the NESCAC.
What Happened:
- Williams struck first late in the opening period as Simon Gaul buried a close-range shot off the back post for the 1–0 lead. Trinity responded four minutes later when Jakob Karpa ripped one top-shelf from the high slot off a faceoff win, with Ian Spencer collecting the assist, sending the teams into the first intermission tied 1–1.
- The Ephs reclaimed the lead at 7:00 of the second stanza as Connor Fitzpatrick converted on the power play with a cross-ice feed to make it 2–1. Just nine seconds later, the Bantams answered immediately when James Barbour walked it in off the center-ice draw and knotted the score at 2–2 heading into the third.
- Trinity controlled possession in the final frame, out-shooting Williams 18–6. At 6:53, Aidan D'Urso cashed in on a rebound from Ryan Panico to give the Bantams their first lead of the afternoon, 3–2. Williams' Jackson Krill responded three minutes later, also on a rebound, to draw the Ephs even yet again at 3–3.
