HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Ice Hockey team surrendered three unanswered goals in a 4-1 loss to visiting 15
th-ranked Plattsburgh State in a non-conference clash at the Koeppel Community Sports Center Tuesday night. The Bantams move to 6-7 on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 7-5 overall.
What Happened:
- Just over three minutes into the game, the Cardinals cycled the puck in the Bantams zone, where Zoe Puc dropped a pass to Taya Balfour at the point, who fired a shot through traffic and past Madeline Carter to give Plattsburgh the 1-0 lead.
- The Bantams evened the score with 4:52 remaining in the first period when Lily Brook picked up a loose puck behind the Cardinals goal and placed a shot on net, which was stopped by Maddy Stetson, but Gabriela Gross got a stick on the rebound to knot the game at 1-1.
- At the 15:50 mark of the second period, the Cardinals pressured the puck in the Trinity zone as Balfour played the puck to far boards, where Puc found Su-An Cho in the slot for another goal through traffic to put Plattsburgh ahead 2-1.
- The Cardinals added a pair of insurance goals in the third period as Bailey MacKellar potted a put-back goal less than two minutes into the frame, followed by a marker from Kate Conlon in the final minutes to seal the 4-1 win.
