Bantams Drop Home Contest to Camels, 4-2

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Ice Hockey Team suffered a 4–2 defeat against the visiting Connecticut College Camels Friday night. The Bantams move to 9–6 overall and 3–6 in conference play, while the Camels improve to 7–7–1 (3–5–1 NESCAC).

What Happened

  • The Bantams struck first at the 12:55 mark when Ryan Panico tossed it ahead to ignite an odd-man break, where Spencer Korona found Brendan Dumas for the opening goal.
  • The Camels answered with 6:04 remaining in the first period on a tally by Pete Stanger.
  • Both teams combined for eight penalties in the second period, resulting in plenty of 4-on-4 play.
  • The Bantams capitalized on a 4-on-3 power play early in the second period to take a 2–1 lead, as Joe Harney sniped one top shelf from the left slot off a feed from Blake Cotton.
  • With just under two minutes left in the period, Will Lawrence netted the equalizer for the Camels.
  • Connecticut College claimed its first lead of the game with 8:58 remaining on a goal by Michael Stenberg, assisted by Reece Cordray and Logan Cleary.
  • A late Bantam surge wasn't enough, as Ryan McKenna sealed the win for the Camels with an empty-netter to close the game at 4–2.
