HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Basketball defeated visiting Connecticut College, 77-62, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tilt at Ray Oosting Gymnasium Friday night. The Bantams improve to 15-5 overall and 4-2 in conference, while the Camels slide to 11-8 and 2-4 on the season.
What Happened:
- The Bantams used three-pointers from Avery Marzo and Melissa Whitmore to build an early 8-4 lead. Trinity extended the lead to 12-6 after the first quarter as the Bantams had five contributors in the point column.
- After a fast-break layup from Marzo put Trinity ahead 15-6, the Camels rattled off an 13-4 run behind eight points from Mia Xerras to knot the score at 19-19 with 4:40 left in the second. The Bantams responded with a 20-4 run to close the frame, paced by six points from Fiona Neilon and five from Whitmore to give Trinity the 39-23 edge at the break.
- A layup from Kiki Fossbender at the 5:40 mark of the third quarter helped the Bantams extend the lead to 48-30. The Camels mounted a comeback attempt, outscoring 20-11 over the next seven minutes to cut the deficit to 59-50 with 8:22 to play.
- The Bantams halted the Conn College rally as Whitmore and Marzo delivered three points apiece, along with free throws from Samantha Slofkiss and Michelle Azzun, to grab the 77-62 victory.

- The Bantams shot 50.9% (29-of-57) from the field, including 56.3% (9-of-16) from three-point range, and 66.7% (10-of-15) from the foul line.
- The Camels connected on 38.3% (23-of-60) from the floor, 42.9% (9-of-21) from beyond the arc, and 58.3% (7-of-12) from the free throw stripe.

- Whitmore led the Bantams offense with a season-high 18 points, shooting 7-of-14 from the floor, with eight rebounds and three blocks.
- Marzo netted 13 points with five rebounds, a game-high five assists and a career-high five steals, while Neilon chipped in a career-high 11 points off the bench.
- Slofkiss added 10 points and nine rebounds, while Marlo Simms grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds with six points and two blocks.
- Xerras paced the Camels with a team-high 15 points and two rebounds, while Lusine Hagopian had 11 points.
