MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Trinity College women's ice hockey dropped their final regular season game, 3–1, to host Wesleyan College Cardinals in a NESCAC matchup. The Bantams drop to 7–14–3 overall and 3–10–3 in conference play, while the Cardinals close their season to 7–15–2 (4–11–1 NESCAC).
What Happened
- The opening frame saw an evenly played twenty minutes, with both team taking a total of 8 shots on goal, both Madeline Carter and Jenna Guglielmi maintaining clean goals for the period.
- Trinity faced a 2–0 deficit after the second period. Cardinals Dylan Green sent in the first goal at 7:57, assisted by Aimee Seppenwolde and Lilly Place to go up 1-0 in the match. Wesleyan would add on their second at 16:45 with a short-handed push by Beats Tura with assists from Place and Green, 2-0 entering the final period.
- An insurance goal just three minutes into the third elevated the Cardinals ahead 3-0 in the contest. Goal scored by Aime Seppenwolde assisted by Place and Green.
- Just as the Bantams power-play ended at the 7:20 mark, Georgia Bussey found a gap between the pipes to make it a 3-1 one game. Despite a constant pressure on the ice in the final frame Trinity was unable to come back from the early lead built by the Cardinals.
