HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College women's ice hockey team fell, 4–1, to the visiting Middlebury College Panthers in a NESCAC matchup. The Bantams drop to 6–13–1 overall and 2–9–1 in conference play, while the Panthers improve to 14–3–3 (9–1–2 NESCAC).
What Happened
- Trinity faced an early 2–0 deficit just 10 minutes into the contest as Middlebury scored twice within a minute. Caroline Thomas and Kate Flynn found the back of the net for the Panthers.
- Despite winning 14 of 21 faceoffs in the second period, the Bantams were unable to cut into the margin. Trinity Walsh and Olivia Gordon each tallied for Middlebury, extending the lead to 4–0 heading into the third.
- Trinity controlled possession for much of the final frame, limiting the Panthers to just one shot on goal over the last 20 minutes. Lily Brook broke through to make it 4–1, finishing a play set up by Meena Al-Kadiri and Nina McKenna for the lone goal of the period.
