Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse | | Henry Vetter

Men's Lacrosse Falls at #5 Salisbury, 11-5

SALISBURY, Md–– The Trinity College Men's Lacrosse Team suffered a road loss to the #5 ranked Salisbury College Seagulls 11-5. Turnovers plagued the Bantams in their season low goal total as Trent Lucovich shined with a stretch of five consecutive goals for the Seagulls. Trinity falls to 5-4 on the season (1-3 NESCAC) while Salisbury moves to 9-2.

What Happened:

  • Despite falling behind early, Trinity quickly responded off a Rory McAloon takeaway which led to an odd man advantage where Bo Page found a trailing Carter Barford

  • Trinity took a 2-1 lead off the swing pass from Duncan Rider to Jay Ottomanelli but wound up trailing 3-2 at the end of the first quarter.

  • The Seagulls would score three unanswered before Page tied the game at 4 apiece with two of his own––scooping a loose ground ball in front of the net for the first then a low laser off the feed from Jake Connors for his second.

  • The Bantams would go scoreless for nearly 33 minutes of gametime as Salisbury rattled off 6 unanswered goals including five in a row by Trent Lucovich.

  • Page would stop the bleeding with 5:39 remaining in the 4th but that would be it for the comeback as the final score was 11-5.
  • Despite the loss, Davis Ike was impressive finishing with 14 saves and a save percentage of .56%. Bo Page led the offense with 3 goals, an assist, and 5 ground balls. On defense Carter Barford recovered 5 ground balls while Finn O'Callaghan and Rory McAloon caused two turnovers each. The Bantams as a team finished with 18 turnovers and won just 3 of 20 faceoffs.

Trinity is back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Connecticut College for a massive NESCAC matchup. The Bantams are 7-9  all-time vs Conn. and will look to avenge last year's 7-10 home loss. The Camels sit at 4-4 overall and 0-4 in conference.
