NEW LONDON, Conn. – The No. 16 Trinity College men's lacrosse team was outlasted, 16-15, in an overtime battle against host Connecticut College Wednesday evening. The Bantams fall to 5-5 overall and 1-4 in the conference, while the Camels improve to 5-4, 1-4.
How it Happened:
- The opening quarter was evenly paced between the two teams, with the Bantams holding a 15-11 edge in shots while leading 5-4.
- Trinity blossomed into a 10-4 lead after a five-goal second-quarter push, with goals from Miles Harvey (2), Billy Gerne, Andrew Finn, and a man-up goal from Bo Page to close the half.
- The third quarter continued the Bantams' run as they added three more quick goals from Rory McAloon, Ethan Lung, and Gerne. The Camels finally responded to Trinity's 9-0 run with a four-goal burst in a four-minute span.
- Jake Connors added the final goal of the third quarter to match the Camels' four goals in the frame, as Trinity led 14-8 entering the final quarter.
- The Camels battled back in the fourth, scoring seven goals to tie the game at 15-15, including two in the final 20 seconds of regulation. The Bantams' lone goal in the quarter came from Ottomanelli.
- Connecticut College broke through in the final two minutes of the five-minute overtime period to secure the 16-15 win.
