HARTFORD, Conn–– The Trinity College Men's Lacrosse Team lost to The Hamilton College Continentals on Saturday, 18-13. Despite owning an 8-4 lead in the first half, the Bantams were unable to close out the second half strong, falling 5-8 overall (1-7 NESCAC) while Hamilton moves to 8-5 (5-4 NESCAC).
Following the contest the men's lacrosse team along with family and friends honored the graduating class of 2026; Jay Ottomanelli, Ryan Challice, Andrew Finn, Collin McCarthy, Finn O'Callaghan, Carter Barford, Davis Ike, Ethan Cobb, Jake Connors, Elliot Detjens, Logan Mueller, Jeb Slimbaugh, John Nagle, Ethan Lung, James Jacob, and Rory McAloon.
Game Summary
First Quarter:
- Billy Gerne opened the game dodging down the right alley and putting Trinity on board.
- Ryan Olivo scored two straight for Hamilton before Carson Krauss and Jesse Delinsky extended the lead to 4-1 for the Continentals.
Second Quarter:
- Miles Harvey scored off the throwback from Gerne to keep it to start the Bantam push
- Taylor Cotton cut for a crease feed from Conley Bohan who hit Bo Page for a similar goal to even it at 4-4.
- Henry Schoettle put the Bantams ahead with a fastbreak dodge followed by a Jay Ottamnelli rocket off another feed from Bohan
- Bohan continued to ignite the offense scooping a ground ball and hitting Harvey in front for a 7-4 Bantam lead.
- Trinity kept it on before the half as a Makin Blalock takeaway led to a wonky Schoettle goal that was deflected into the net
- Hamilton scored one more with 12 seconds in the half to make it 8-5.
Third Quarter:
- Hamilton scored two goals in the first 40 seconds to keep it within one.
- Gerne answered dodging his way to another goal but Thomas Healy scored two more for the Continentals to tie it up at 9-9.
- Trinty would fall behind 10-9 but Schoettle and Harvey connected to event he game at 10.
- Hamilton scored three unanswered as Coach Tarnow switched to Davis Ike in net as Trinity trailed 14-10 heading to the 4th quarter.
Fourth Quarter:
- Thomas Healy and Carson Kraus kept cooking for the Continentals claiming an early 16-10 advantage.
- Fritz Frechette netted his first goal of the season to cut the deficit to five for Trinity.
- Gerne tacked on another off a pass from Jake Connors before he traded goals with the Continentals to keep it at 17-13.
- Hamilton would add one more to seal the road victory, 18-13.
Next Up
The Bantams will travel to Colby College next Saturday to take on the Mules. Trinity is 6-10 all time versus Colby who enters the matchup at 4-8 (1-7 NESCAC).
