HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Baseball team used a pair of 400-foot home runs to defeat visiting Vassar College, 6-3, in their 2026 regular season home finale at Murren Family Field at DiBenedetto Stadium Wednesday evening. The Bantams rise to 22-8, while the Brewers dip to 11-17 overall.
What Happened:
- The Brewers plated two runs in the top of the first after a deep shot to the gap was dropped, allowing Ethan Fox-Fernandez and Noah Townsend to score. The Bantams looked to cut into the deficit in the bottom of the inning, but Aidan Stern was cut down on a throw home from left field.
- The sides exchanged long balls as Tyler Bernstein launched a solo home run to deep center in the third, and then Nick Kreatsoulas lifted a solo shot over the left field fence to set the score at 3-1.
- After an RBI sac fly from Dylan Schnitzer made it a one-run game in the bottom of the sixth, Timothy Domizio belted a two-run home run to deep center, to put Trinity ahead 4-3 in the home half of the seventh.
- The Bantams tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the ninth as Stern raced home on a wild pitch, followed by Schnitzer scoring on a double steal to send Trinity to the 6-3 victory.
Inside the Boxscore:
- The Bantams tallied six runs on five hits, including three extra-base hits, with two errors and four stolen bases. Vassar scored three runs on six hits with an error.
- Domizio drove in two runs and scored, while Schnitzer and Bernstein both knocked in a run and scored while combining for three stolen bases.
- Stern went 1-for-3 with a run scored, and Luis Saldivia chipped in a run and a stolen base in the win.
- Starter Andrew Gabriel took a no-decision in 4.1 innings of work, allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits with a career-high six strikeouts. Andruw Perez (2-1) logged the win in a clean inning of relief, while Tyler Fahey registered his fifth save of the season with three strikeouts in two scoreless frames.

- The Bantams will be back in action when they travel to Tufts University (22-8, 6-3 NESCAC) for a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) series at Sol Gittleman Park in Medford on April 24-25. First pitch for Friday's game is slated for 3:00 p.m.
