Men's Cross Country Tri-Captains Named Bantams Of The Week

Hartford, Conn. - The seventh and final Bantams of the Week of 2020-21 fall season has been selected.  With the postponement of intercollegiate competition for Trinity's fall teams, we are honoring our fall senior student-athletes as Bantams of the Week. These athletes have been denied the opportunity to compete in their final traditional season by the COVID-19 outbreak, but are working hard and safely at practice to prepare for a final chance to compete as Bantams this spring.  This week's honorees are women's cross country senior tri-captains Will Estony (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), Stephen Tyler (Weston, Conn.), and senior Erkin Verbeek (Bethesda, Md.).

Trinity Athletics created the Bantams of the Week award to spotlight three outstanding student-athletes who have performed at an extremely high level while representing the Bantams in varsity sporting competition.

Estony, a two-year starter, posted a season-best, 14th-place finish in the Trinity Invitational last fall. He added a 77th-place finish at the 2019 NESCAC Championships and a 114th-place finish in the 2019 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships. Estony is a five-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree in cross country and track and field for the Bantams. A graduate of Trinity Pawling School, Estony is majoring in computer science at Trinity. He is the son of Kathleen and Frank Estony.

He added a 58th-place finish at the 2019 NESCAC Championships and a 104th-place finish in the 2019 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships.
