Hartford, Conn. - Freshman goalkeeper Lily Pepper
(Princeton Jct., N.J.) made nine saves and recorded her
second shutout in three career starts to lead the Trinity College
Bantams to a 3-0 victory over the Eastern Connecticut State
University Warriors today at Campus Field. The Bantams
improve to 8-4 with the win, while the Warriors, ranked No. 9 in
New England at the start of the game, fall to 8-4-1.
Freshman forward Jenny Ley (Warwick, R.I.) started
the scoring with a first half goal assisted by senior Delia
Deblois (Sherborn, Mass.) to give the Bantmas an early
lead. Soon after, Senior Erika Maciaszczyk (Milton,
Mass.) scored a deep goal to give the Bantams a 2-0 edge
in the first half. In the second, sophomore midfielder
Morgan Sackman (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) scored a late
goal from Ley to put the game out of reach for the Warriors.
The Warriors were unable to capitalize on some scoring
opportunities, thanks to a strong presence in net by Pepper.
Junior goalkeeper Kim Church (Farmington, Conn.)
did well to keep her team in the game by making several athletic
saves. She finished the game with eight stops for the
Warriors.
