Trinity Women's Soccer Suffers Overtime Loss in NESCAC Opener

Hartford, Conn. - First-year Julie Denison (Northbrook, Ill.) scored the lone goal of the game, in overtime, giving the Colby Mules a 1-0 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in this afternoon's match up at Campus Field.  The loss drops the Bantam's to 4-1 on the season, while the Mule's improve to 4-1 with the win.

The first half was dominated by Trinity as the offense produced nine shots on net, but sophomore goalkeeper Loni Pisani (Kanata, Canada) was steady in net, keeping the ball out of Colby's net.  In the second half, Trinity continued their offensive push, but the game remained scoreless despite an opportunity for the Bantams with just nine seconds on the clock.  A foul was called against Colby, giving Trinity sophomore Caroline Washburne (Medfield, Mass.) a shot at the top of the goalie box.  Washburne's shot slightly sailed over the net, and the game went to overtime.

The game was evenly matched in the overtime period until the ball found its way to Colby's Denison, who was able to get one of Colby's five shots off, which found it's way passed Trinity sophomore Emily Weedon (Wellesley, Mass.), to give the Mules the win.
Pisani made eight saves in net for the Mules, while Weedon notched three for the Bantams.
