Trinity Women's Basketball Stops Simmons, Off To 11-0 Start

Boston, Mass. - The Simmons College Sharks lost to the Trinity College Bantams, 52-28, this afternoon, in front of packed home bleachers at the William J. Holmes Sports and Fitness Center.  Trinity improves to 11-0, its best start since 1996-97, while the Sharks fall to 7-4.

Halfway through the first half, the action remained tight with the Bantams leading 3-2, until freshman guard Michelle Royals (Torrington, Conn.) hit two 3-pointers and freshman guard Kaitlin Ciarleglio (Waterbury, Conn.) another 3. In less than a minute, Trinity quickly pulled away to an 11-point lead, eventually finishing the first half leading 23-9.  Royals led the Bantams with 17 points, while juniors Christine Card (Waterbury, Conn.) and Jessica Sims (Peabody, Mass.) grabbed eight rebounds apiece.
