Lewiston, Maine - Sophomore forward Leigh Howard
(Bethany, Conn.) scored the only two goals of the contest
to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 2-0 victory over
the Bates College Bobcats in New England Small College Athletic
Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action this afternoon at Russell
Street Field. Trinity improves to 2-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in
the NESCAC with its second win in a row, while Bates falls to 2-2-1

31-14 overall shot advantage. Howard's first and game-winning
goal came in the 19th minute of the contest, when she beat Burns to
a lead pass sent ahead by senior midfielder Lauren Olsen
(Cheshire, Conn.) and kicked it into the left corner of
the net. Howard later gave the Bantams breathing room on a
pass from sophomore teammate Jenny Ley (Warwick,
R.I.). Junior goalie Emily Weedon
(Wellesley, Mass.) had six saves for the Bantams.
