Hartford, Conn. – Juniors Greg Brennan (East
Setauket, N.Y.) and Max Alderman (Sudbury,
Mass.) scored three goals apiece to lead the Trinity
College Bantams to a 16-3 win over the Eastern Connecticut State
University Warriors in men's lacrosse action this afternoon
on Jessee/Miller Field. Trinity improves to 7-6
overall, while the Warriors drop to 7-3 on the season.
It took Trinity less than two minutes to grab a lead in the
game, when senior co-captain Harper Cullen (Rehobeth Beach,
Del.) netted the first goal of the game and the eventual
game-winner to give the Bantams the advantage for good.
Trinity went on a 5-0 run to open the game, and led 10-1 at the
half.
Sophomore Michael Sullinger (Brookfield,
Conn.) also netted a hat-trick in the game, scoring at the
end of the first period and adding two more goals in the third
frame. Trinity outshot Eastern Connecticut 35-27 in the game
and 21-13 in the first half.
Trinity sophomore goalkeeper Peter Johnson (Riverside,
Conn.) made five saves in three periods for the win and
freshman Dominic Piselli (Rockville Center, N.Y.)
made three saves in one period of action for the Bantams.
Freshman goalkeeper Donald Berube (Tewksbury,
Mass.) made 11 saves in net for the Warriors.
Trinity travels to Middlebury for a matchup with the Panthers on
Sat., Apr. 17 at 2 p.m.
