Hartford, Conn. – Junior Greg Brennan (East
Setauket, N.Y.) and senior co-captain Harper
Cullen (Rehobeth Beach, Del.) scored two goals apiece to
lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 9-5 win over the Bates
College Bobcats in New England Small College Athletic Conference
(NESCAC) men's lacrosse action this afternoon on Campus
Field. Trinity improves to 8-6 overall and 2-6 in the
league, while the Bobcats fall to 4-7 overall and 0-7 in the
league.
With the score knotted at four goals apiece, Brennan snuck a
shot past Bates sophomore goalkeeper Adam Scharff (Glyndon,
Md.) to give the Bantams a 5-4 lead with 2:26 remaining in
the first half. After a scoreless third, Brennan would open
the fourth the same way, giving the Bantams a 6-4 lead.
Senior David Barrett (Chatham, N.J.) would answer
for Bates, cutting the deficit back to one before Trinity would
string off three goals in the final 7:28 to ice the win.
Trinity travels to Massachusetts to take on Wheaton College this
Mon., April 26 for a 4 p.m. match, and returns to Hartford to host
NESCAC rival Amherst College in the season finale at 4 p.m. on
Fri., April 30.
