Women's Soccer Season Opener Results in Scoreless Tie with Colby

Hartford, Conn. –  Sophomore Lily Pepper (Princeton Junction, N.J.) and senior goalkeeper Emily Weedon (Wellesley, Mass.) combined for an 11-save shutout as the Trinity College Bantams tied the visiting Colby College Mules 0-0 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer season opener for both teams this afternoon.  It was the Bantams fourth shutout in their last five games, dating back to last season.

Colby goalkeeper Jayde Bennett (Lynn, Mass.) racked up 18 saves for a shutout of her own, as the Bantams were unable to capitalize on the offensive end, despite rifling off 24 shots.  Trinity maintained possession on the offensive end for the majority of regulation, and in overtime.  The Trinity defense has been a strong point for the Bantams, recording eight shutouts last year, three of which resulted in scoreless ties.
