Altdorf Scores Twice Late In Trinity Women's Soccer Win Against Colby

Box Score

Hartford, Conn. – Senior back Shawna Altdorf (Brooklyn, Conn.) tied the game at 1-1 in the 87th minute with her first tally of the game and won with 1:41 left in the first overtime with her second score to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 victory in dramatic fashion over the visiting Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action this afternoon.  Trinity improves to 4-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the NESCAC with its first win in four games and its first win over Colby in the last eight between the two schools.  Colby drops to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Trailing, 1-0, for nearly 60 minutes, after a goal by Mule freshman midfielder Maddie Tight (San Rafael, Calif.) from senior tri-captain back Emily Moos (Wayzata, Minn.) in the 28th minute, Altdorf converted on an assist by senior forward Katie Giberson (Valhalla, N.Y.) with the first goal for the Bantams against Colby since 2004.  After 8:19 of scoreless play in overtime, Altdorf struck again, this time from senior co-captain forward Jenny Ley (Warwick, R.I.), to win the game for the Bantams.  Trinity outshot the Mules, 16-9, while Bantam senior Lily Pepper (Princeton Junction, N.J.) made two saves.  Colby rookie Emily Brook (Duxbury, Mass.) had five stops.
