Box Score Lewiston, Maine - The Trinity College women's soccer team lost 1-0 to New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe, Bates, dropping their first game since September 12, and falling to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Bobcats victory pushes Bates to 4-2-2 overall and is their first conference victory.
After a scoreless first half, Bates got on the board after a set piece from Allison Hill (Brunswick, Maine) was put into the box and headed into the back of the net by Hannah Behringer (East Lyme, Conn.) at the 58 minute mark. The Bobcats would hold onto the lead as both teams tallied 11 shots each on the afternoon.
Senior tri-captain and goalkeeper Monica DiFiori (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) recorded six saves, allowing the lone Bates goal, while Bobcat goalie Sarah McCarthy (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) stopped eight shots in the shutout victory.
Trinity resumes action on Thursday, October 8, as they travel to Manhattanville to take on the Valiants. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
