New London, Conn. - Freshman forward Mike Leon scored both goals to lead the Connecticut College Camels to a 2-0 victory over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer action this afternoon at Freeman Field.  Trinity falls to 2-4-2 overall and 0-4-1 in the NESCAC, extending its winless streak to six games.  The Camels improve to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the league with their fourth win in a row.

Connecticut College scored its first goal with 24:22 left in the first half when Leon deflected the ball from Trinity sophomore goalie Mateo Zabala (Paterson, N.J.) and pushed it into an open net.  Trinity had three successive corner kicks in the 34th minute of play, but all resulted in errant or blocked shots.  Bantam junior midfielder Tobias Gimand (Fairfield, Conn.) sent a shot just wide from inside the box after classmate Cody Savonen (Orleans, Mass.) had threaded him a feed through two Camel defenders, and Trinity trailed, 1-0, at halftime.

Zabala kept the Bantama within one goal with a diving save against Camel rookie Christian Murphy's blast from the right flank, and Gimand stopped a ball that had gotten behind Zabala in the lower left corner of the goal on the ensuing Connecticut College corner kick.  In the 54th minute, Leon struck again on a rebound after Zabala had left his feet to stop another bid from the right wing by Murphy.  Trinity senior Mark Perreault (Southborough, Mass.) had a good luck late from the top of the box, sending the ball low and wide right of the post, and the Bantams' final decent chance to get on the scoreboard was a shot by sophomore Sam Milbury (Peabody, Mass.) from 18 yards out in front of the net after junior forward Dan O'Neil (North Potomac, Md.) had headed a Savonen cross into the air with 10 minutes on the clock.  The teams took eight shots apiece, as Zabala made four saves and Connecticut College junior Austin DaCunha (Brookfield, Conn.) had two.
