Box Score

Brunswick, Maine – The visiting Trinity College women's soccer team scored 15 minutes into this afternoon's game and held on to hand the Bowdoin College Polar Bears a 1-0 loss in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play.  Trinity improves to 7-1-2 overall and 5-1 in the NESCAC with its sixth consecutive victory and extends its unbeaten streak to eight games (7-0-1).  The Polar Bears, ranked No. 9 in New England, drop to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the league. The Bantams host Eastern Connecticut, ranked No. 8 in New England, on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Trinity first-year midfielder Tricia Pollock (Beverly, Mass.) scored 15:31 into the game off a long shot from outside the box, finding the low left corner of the net.  Bantam junior Julia Pitino (Littleton, Mass.) stopped six Bowdoin shots to record the shutout, including three in the second half.  Trinity peppered Bowdoin goalie Rachel Stout with several shots shortly after Pollock's goal, but the keeper kept the Polar Bears within striking distance by denying the bids.  Bowdoin outshot the Bantams by an 11-7 margin and held a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.
