Brunswick, Maine – Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor O'Connor (Danvers, Mass.) made six saves and recorded a shutout to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 2-0 victory over the Bowdoin College Polar Bears in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action this afternoon at Pickard Field.  Trinity extends its unbeaten streak to four games (2-0-2) and improves to 4-4-2 overall and 2-3 in the NESCAC, while the Polar Bears drop to 5-4-1 overall and 1-4 in the league.  Trinity will host No. 4-ranked Middlebury in its next game on Saturday, October 13 at 2 p.m., while Bowdoin plays at Colby tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

First-year Colleen Lux (Shaker Heights, Ohio) gave the Bantams a 1-0 lead with 30 seconds left in the first half when she beat her defender to the ball, drew our Polar Bear goalie Sabrina Albanese, and pulled wround her for an open look.  Trinity junior midfielder Olga Koczykowska (New Britain, Conn.) assisted on the play.  Bowdoin had nearly scored three times earlier half, shooting once off the cross bar, heading the ball just over the cross bar, and having O'Connor deflect a bid by Julia Patterson over the cross bar in the 40th minute.

In the second half, Bantam junior forward Katie Marlow-Benedick (Weston, Mass.) found sophomore forward Amelia Kroschwitz (Byfield, Mass.) at the right of the box, and Kroschwitz booted a shot just beyond the fingers of Albanese to give Trinity an insurance goal in the 52nd minute.  Both teams managed 13 shots. The Polar Bears held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks, while Albanese made five stops.  Trinity wins over Bowdoin in the regular season for the fourth year in a row.
