Trinity Men's Lacrosse Pummels Emmanuel, 15-0

Box Score

Boston, Mass. - The Trinity College Bantams cruised to a 15-0 victory on Monday night over the Emmanuel College Saints in men's lacrosse action at Clemente Field. The Bantams improve to 2-3 on the year while the Saints fall to 0-6 overall. Trinity returns to action on Saturday when it hosts the Tufts University Jumbos at Jessee/Miller Field at 1 p.m.

Rookie Drew Kozub (Hopkinton, Mass.) led the way for the Bantams, scoring a game-high four goals on 11 shots while junior Teddy Myers (Washington, D.C.) added three scores of his own. Senior tri-captain Ryan Tassan (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) led the way on the defensive side of the ball with two caused turnovers in front of fellow senior tri-captain Woody Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass.) who needed to make just a pair of saves in his second win of the year. Trinity won 13-of-18 faceoffs and caused 17 Saint turnovers while holding the hosts to just 11 total shots.

Trinity poured on seven goals in the opening quarter to take a commanding lead after the first 15 minutes of play. Sophomore Ben Ferrucci (Essex, Conn.) started the scoring with his sixth goal of the spring just 35 seconds into the game. Kozub went on to score once more in the first before scoring twice more in the second, less than a minute apart. Myers also assisted on a pair of Trinity goals, as did junior Ben Knaus (Ross, Calif.) and classmate Alex Notman (Wellesley, Mass.).

Myers completed his hat-trick with 9:02 left to play in the third quarter before junior Ben MacShane (Concord, Mass.) capped the Bantam scoring with his second goal of the year with 2:27 remaining. Both sophomore Brady Burke (Duxbury, Mass.) and junior Greg Barletta (Canton, Mass.) split time between the pipes in the second half and finished with two saves each.
