Trinity Women's Soccer And Wheaton Play To Scoreless Tie

Norton, Mass. - Sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Stuart (Newburyport, Mass.) made six saves to collect her first career shutout, as the visiting Trinity College Bantam played the Wheaton College Lyons to a scoreless tie over 110 minutes in women's soccer action this afternoon.  Trinity moves to 2-3-1, while the Lyons are now 3-2-3.  Trinity hosts New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Bowdoin on Saturday at 3 p.m. in its next game, while the Lyons entertain Babson the same day at 3 p.m.

Trinity outshot Wheaton, 18-10, while the Lyons had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Wheaton goalkeeper Alexis Barbagallo ended the contest with 10 saves, including a stop against Trinity first-year forward Julianna Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) with 34 seconds left in regulation and another against Bantam sophomore forward Whitney Hoban (Winnetka, Ill.) with 40 seconds left in the first overtime.  Kennedy also hit the post with a shot in the first extra session and sent the lone Trinity shot of the second overtime wide in the 103rd minute.
