Danbury, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams scored four unanswered goals to close out the second period and cruised to a 14-7 victory over the Western Connecticut State University Colonials in men's lacrosse action at the Westside Athletic Complex Wednesday evening.  With the loss, WestConn now stands at 1-1 on the season, while Trinity remains undefeated at 2-0.

Barbieri (Islip Terrace, NY), senior Joseph Aitken (Lakeville, CT), and sophomore Tom Begley (East Islip, NY) with one goal each.  Barbieri led WestConn in assists with three.

Trinity College got on the scoreboard early when Alderman connected on an unassisted goal just over one minute into the game.  Trinity pulled ahead 2-0 at the 8:58 mark of the first period, but less than a minute later WestConn's Aitken answered to make the score 2-1.  The teams then traded goals to close out the first period with Trinity holding a slim 3-2 lead.  Trinity struck first in the second period to make the score 4-2, but Barieri scored a man-up goal at 6:31 to bring WestConn with one, 4-3.  The Bantams took control of the game by scoring four goals in just over six minutes to take an 8-3 lead at intermission.

In the third period, senior goal keeper Kyle Wood (Hyde Park, NY) and the rest of the WestConn defense helped close the gap, but Trinity still led 10-6 going into the fourth period.  In the final stanza, Trinity dominated time-of-possession and cruised to a 14-7 final margin of victory.  Graham Fadden (New Canaan, CT) takes the win in goal for Trinity College, while Wood , who recorded 14 saves, suffers his first loss of the season  for the Colonials.
