Romanowsky Leads The Way To Trinity Women's Lax Win Over Conn. College

Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore midfielder Rachel Romanowsky (Hampstead, N.H.) totaled three goals and three assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 18-9 win over the visiting Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Confernece (NESCAC) women's lacrosse opener for both teams this afternoon on Sheppard Field.

Trinity, ranked No. 14 in the nation, opened up a 4-0 lead in the first 2:24 of the game, including two scores by senior attacker Jesse Schultz (Troy, N.Y.).  Romanowsky tallied once and assisted on two of the other four during the stretch.  Senior attacker Margaret Davies (Weston, Mass.) scored the first goal of the season for the Camels 6:34 into the contest, but the Trinity rattled off five more unanswered goals for a 9-1 lead and the game was never in doubt from there.

Schultz, junior Sarah Remes (Silver Spring, Md.), and sophomore Caitlin Irvine (Westwood, Mass.) all joined Romanowsky with Bantam hat tricks, while sophomore midfielder Abby Hill (Stoneham, Mass.) paced Connecticut College with a game-high four goals and one assist.  Trinity freshman Gina Dinallo (West Hartford, Conn.) earned her first career victory in goal with seven saves and Jenna Ross (Longmeadow, Mass.) made 12 stops for the Camels.
