Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore midfielder Rachel Romanowsky
(Hampstead, N.H.) totaled three goals and three assists to
lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 18-9 win over the visiting
Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic
Confernece (NESCAC) women's lacrosse opener for both teams this
afternoon on Sheppard Field.
Trinity, ranked No. 14 in the nation, opened up a 4-0 lead in
the first 2:24 of the game, including two scores by senior attacker
Jesse Schultz (Troy, N.Y.). Romanowsky
tallied once and assisted on two of the other four during the
stretch. Senior attacker Margaret Davies (Weston,
Mass.) scored the first goal of the season for the Camels
6:34 into the contest, but the Trinity rattled off five more
unanswered goals for a 9-1 lead and the game was never in doubt
from there.
Schultz, junior Sarah Remes (Silver Spring,
Md.), and sophomore Caitlin Irvine (Westwood,
Mass.) all joined Romanowsky with Bantam hat tricks, while
sophomore midfielder Abby Hill (Stoneham, Mass.)
paced Connecticut College with a game-high four goals and one
assist. Trinity freshman Gina Dinallo (West Hartford,
Conn.) earned her first career victory in goal with seven
saves and Jenna Ross (Longmeadow, Mass.) made 12
stops for the Camels.
