Trinity Women's Lax Routs ECSU, Ties For Best Start In College History

Hartford, Conn. – Senior co-captain midfielder Alisen Urquhart (Redding, Conn.) had three goals and one assist to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 18-5 victory over the visiting Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors in women's lacrosse action this evening on Sheppard Field.  Trinity ranked No. 3 in the nation, improves to 12-0 and tied the College record for most wins to start a season.  The Bantams are one of just two undefeated teams remaining in NCAA Division III women's lacrosse (top-ranked New Jersey is 15-0).  Eastern Connecticut drops to 5-7 with its first loss in three games.

Trinity led, 5-0, after six minutes of play and 11-3 at the break.  Bantam senior co-captain attacker Rachel Romanowsky (Hampstead, N.H.) scored three times, while sophomores Hadley Duncan (Rye, N.Y.) and Megan Leonhard (Summit, N.J.) added two goals and one assist apiece.  Junior attacker Ashley Prizio (Brookfield, Conn.) paced Eastern Connecticut with three goals.  Warrior sophomore goalie Nancy Ibrahim (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) made nine saves and three goalies combined for four stops in the Trinity net.
